A farewell reception for Ambassador Yamazaki was held on Friday, October 7, 2022, jointly organized by the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry Singapore (JCCI) and the Japanese Association, Singapore (JAS). About 60 people gathered at the JAS Ballroom (2F), where the event was held.
Ambassador Yamazaki took up his position in Singapore on October 13, 2018, and although faced with the challenge of the global spread of COVID-19 in 2020, he has been making efforts to ensure the safety and security of the Japanese community in Singapore as well as to further deepen the relationship between Japan and Singapore.
In October 2019, the Embassy of Japan in Singapore and the Japan Creative Centre (JCC) organized the first full-scale Bunraku performance in Singapore as part of the JCC 10th anniversary project, showcasing traditional Japanese culture.
Before the COVID-19 and after the easing of restrictions, we also had the pleasure of having him participate in JCCI and JAS events such as the New Year’s Greeting Party, Chingay Parade and Japanese Speech Contest, Japanese Association Summer Festival, and Open House. We would like to thank Ambassador Yamazaki once again for taking time out of his extremely busy schedule to attend our various events.
Ambassador Yamazaki returned to Japan on October 15 after completing his four-year term in Singapore.
