The Charity Bazaar Committee carefully inspects each item generously donated by our members and supporters, and holds charity bazaars several times a year on an occasional basis.

For new and unused items, please place them in the “Box of Hope” located on the 2nd floor of JAS.

We are no longer accepting second-hand items through the collection box in the basement, as we did in the past. This is because inspecting and sorting donated second-hand items requires a significant amount of time and effort.

However, we have received many requests from our bazaar visitors to offer second-hand items for sale, and our Toy Recycling Bazaar in April was also very well received.

We are now accepting donations of pre-loved items that are no longer needed.

Donations received from our members and supporters are sold at our Charity Bazaars, with the proceeds used to support welfare organisations in Singapore.

As our bazaars are operated with a limited number of volunteers and limited storage space, we kindly ask that donated items be in good, resalable condition and suitable for the next owner to purchase and use comfortably. We also ask that donors be able to bring the items to the Japanese Association themselves.

【Items We Would Especially Appreciate Receiving as Donations】

• Electrical appliances (rice cookers, microwaves, toaster ovens, electric kettles, TV monitors, dehumidifiers, small fans, hair dryers, etc.)
• Children’s clothing (branded items such as Ralph Lauren, Familiar, Miki House, Petit Bateau, etc.)
• Toys (clean and complete, with all parts included)
• Musical instruments
• Branded tableware

※ We may also be able to accept items other than those listed above, depending on their condition and demand. Please feel free to contact us for more information.

【Items We Are Unable to Accept】

• Items with stains, dirt, or unpleasant odours
• Items that are damaged or not in working condition
• Items with missing parts or accessories
• Items that show significant signs of use and are difficult to resell
• Items donated for the purpose of disposal

Please note that even if you bring an item to us, we may not be able to accept it depending on its condition, as well as storage and sales considerations. We sincerely apologise for having to make this request, but as our activities are operated with limited staff and storage space, we greatly appreciate your kind understanding.
