Soprano Recital by Nakagawa Reiko 

 

We are pleased to present a concert by Ms Nakagawa Reiko, an active soprano singer in Japan. Please enjoy a wonderful and heartwarming time with songs of the four seasons and operatic arias.

Message from Reiko Nakagawa

"Nowadays, many songs that have been sung in Japan for a long time are disappearing from textbooks in schools. I want many people to know the heart of the Japanese people, their way of life, and the beautiful Japanese phrase. I sincerely hope that we can share not just the Japanese songs, but importance of connecting our hearts through music as well as the joy and excitement of enjoying music."

Soprano Singer : Nakagawa Reiko Profile

Graduated from Toho College of Music, Department of Voice. In 2002, at the age of 42, she joined the opera group Kansai Nikikai. The following year she made her debut as Rosalinde in "Die Fledermaus. The following year, she was selected to perform the role of the Countess in "The Marriage of Figaro" at the 40th anniversary performance of the Kansai Nikikai. Her performance of Adalgisa in "Norma" was acclaimed as a historic performance. She has also performed many other leading roles, including Carmen, Merry Widow, and the Gypsy Baron. She has appeared in Shosoin and Uji in "The Tale of Genji" as Yugao and in "Manyoshu" by Akira Senju as Nukata-ou. She has performed with many orchestras and is highly acclaimed for her stable, beautiful voice and gorgeous stage appearance.
She has performed in recitals sponsored by the city, charity concerts for earthquake disaster and reconstruction (donations for the Great East Japan Earthquake are made every year), dedication concerts, hospital and maternity concerts, music lectures at schools and kindergartens, ensemble performances with her daughters (piano and violin), and concerts and children's songs at Music Salon Nakagawa. She also performs with her daughters (piano and violin) in ensembles and at Music Salon Nakagawa, where she holds concerts and children's songs.
She has performed with the Gunma Symphony Orchestra as the ninth soprano soloist in the Kanto region. Since then, she has organized performances of the Ninth in Yamatotakada City for 10 years. She is also active as a soloist for the Ninth and religious works, as well as a judge for competitions, and provide guidance to younger students.
She is a regular member of the Kansai Nikikai, a member of the Kashihara Music Association, the Nara Prefecture Music and Arts Association, and the Sakurai City Music Association.
He is the Harmony Conductor of the Female Chorus Takata. Conductor and leader of the mixed chorus Coro Cuore.
