The Chingay Parade – A Spectacle of Energy and Creativity Beyond Borders! Held on 27 (Fri) and 28 (Sat) Feb 2026, the Chingay Parade is one of Asia’s largest festivals, celebrating energy and creativity that transcend national boundaries. Organized by the People’s Association (PA) as an official Lunar New Year event, the parade began in 1973 at the proposal of Singapore’s founding Prime Minister, Mr Lee Kuan Yew. It has since become a cherished Singaporean tradition that showcases creativity and unity across age, race, and language. The Japanese Association has been taking part in the parade since 2003, sharing the beauty and spirit of Japan with the world. The joy of interacting with performers from diverse countries and the thrill of dancing before a full house of spectators offer an unforgettable experience found nowhere else!

Important Notes:

Failure to meet participation requirements may result in disqualification.

All participants must attend the practice on Saturday, January 10, 2026, when materials and costumes will be distributed

Please note that call times for rehearsals and performances at the F1 Pit will be earlier than the start times listed above.

The schedule is subject to change without prior notice.

Eligibility

Those who are not JAS members must belong to a local school or organization affiliated with the Japanese Association.

How to Apply:

Group Participation: The representative should apply on behalf of the group.

Participation Guidelines

Participants should be able to dance happily and with a smile—teamwork is highly valued.
