ーSummer Festival Commー

This year, with the main event day on 27th August (Sat) and the whole month of August as the summer festival period, we were able to hold the “Summer Festival 2022”, though with a smaller scale, at JAS clubhouse.

During this summer festival period, the members enjoyed the decorations inspired by the summer festival, the special classes, the activity/interest group trials, the summer festival photo contest and the summer Senryu contest.

We welcomed the ambassador Yamazaki on the main event day, 27th August (Sat), and shared the lively experiences of the summer festival. We held out a variety of programs such as the stalls selling summer festival food and items, Yo-yo fishing game, traditional Japanese festival games (“Senbonbiki”, “Wanage”, “Shateki”), Bon odori, Yukata rentals, the activity/interest group trials and stage performances. “Mikyan”, the mascot character who made appearance at 1F by the stalls and the bon odori venue on 2F was a big hit for children and helped warming up the bon odori together with the Japanese Folk Dance Group and the Japanese Drum Group.

Thanks to the support from volunteers, members of related activity/interest groups and classes, the Summer Festival 2022 was a great success. We would like to express our great appreciation to all the members and people who worked together for “Summer Festival 2022”.
