The sports festival successfully
concluded on 24 July 2011 (Sun). The
festival revolved around the theme
of “Kizuna” with the objective of
rendering support to the recovery and
reconstruction after the March 11th
earthquake and tsunami in northeastern
Japan.
Blessed with the fine weather,
about 2000 participants competed
in the various events for the families
and organised teams. The Japanese
Ambassador Mr. Suzuki , JAS
President Mr. Yasuno together with
many of the General Committee
members were present at the event.
The prizes comprising sacks of rice
for the event Message “Omoi” were
brought in from Iwate Prefecture.
We would like to express our
heartfelt appreciation to the 170
volunteers comprising members of the
sports committee, Japanese Schools
and Japanese Kindergarten teachers,
members of social groups as well as the
Waseda Shibuya Singapore Campus.
