演奏者達が、御遊のふるさと・京都に集い、雅楽団体、 『音輪会』を平成８年に結成しました。以来、宮内庁楽部からの講師陣により、雅楽の精神・響きを厳しく教わり、定期演奏会やモナコ・エヴィア ン・プラハ・シドニーなど国内外にてその成果を発揮しています。また、各地の学
音輪会会長 川口智康師　校などで雅楽教室を開き、世界に誇れる日本の伝統音楽として積極的に次世代に伝える社会活動を行っています。雅楽について雅楽は千二百年以上の歴史を持ち、日本の古典音楽として、また世界の古典音楽の１つとして外国でも非常に高く評価されてきています。日本古来の儀式音楽や舞踊などと、仏教伝来した飛鳥時代から平安時代初めの四百年余りの間に、中国大陸や朝鮮半島から伝えられた音楽や舞が融合し、平安時代に日本独自の様式を確立した音楽です。　

Otonowakai Profile Introduction of Otonowakai In 1996, we established one musical performance group, “Otonowakai” of Kyoto, where Gagaku has been preserved for over a thousand years. Since then, under the direction of the members from Music Department of the Imperial Household Agency, we have demonstra ted our achievements through our yearly concerts and overseas performances in Monaco, Prague, Évian-les-Bains, Sydney, and other locations. For our additional important intention, we also introduce this traditional culture of Gagaku to the next generations by workshops at local schools. What is Gagaku? The word, “Gagaku,”originally means, music made for the common people of the world, but is also designated the word for traditional music in the literal sense. The Gagaku that exists in China and Korea has a different meaning then the Gagaku of Japan. Gagaku is based on the ancient songs and dances of Japan. Also musical instruments, songs, and dances from old China and Korea influenced it. The foundation of Gagaku was formed in the tenth century. It became Japan’s oldest classical music and dance.
